Big Give 2018: Karen’s Story

Case manager Karen, a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, has been fighting homelessness for most of her life. “Through years of working in the community and at my church, I have seen firsthand how living on the street impacts the lives of so many of my fellow veterans. This is how I knew the American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program (NVOP) was the perfect fit for my post-military life.”

Karen works with 20-25 veteran clients each week, and she strives to make sure that each family she serves has a smooth transition into their new home. “We have so many veteran families that we support at the NVOP, and I wish we could give them all a complete move-in kit. So many veterans have absolutely nothing when they come see me.”

Every dollar you give to the NVOP tomorrow, March 22, goes directly to fund our Veterans Care Closet and help case managers like Karen get their clients the help they need. Will you consider making a donation of $10, $20, $50, or $100 tomorrow to help Karen support her clients?

Give here TOMORROW, 3/22:

Thank you for your generosity!
