American GI Forum NVOP Donates Half Scale Replica of Vietnam Veterans Memorial

In 1985, through a special commission, a leading designer constructed an authentic half scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial located in Washington, D.C. Since the first showing of this inspiring model, thousands of veterans, their families, friends, and the general public have experienced the emotional significance of the wall being closer to home. As stewards of the wall, the American GI Forum accepts the responsibility and distinct honor of displaying the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica allows the healing process that occurs with viewing the original memorial in Washington, D.C. to also occur through viewing the replica. Visitors are afforded the incredible opportunity to view the many names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who served their nation with honor.

The American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program (NVOP) is honored to donate the half-scale, photo mural replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (NMDVS). The Vietnam Veterans Memorial has contributed significantly to the healing of wounds caused by the Vietnam War, and we cannot think of a finer location than the Vietnam Veteran National Memorial in Angel Fire, New Mexico to present this incredible display.
