The National Veterans Outreach Program Celebrates 45 Years!

On Friday, July 27, at the 70th National Conference of the American GI Forum of the U.S. (AGIF), the American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program’s (NVOP) President and CEO Carlos Martinez was honored at an appreciation luncheon with over 300 business, civic, and community leaders including USAA, Senator Jose Menendez, Representative Roland Gutierrez, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Valero Energy, Port San Antonio, Webhead, Frost Bank, and many others.

Since 1972, Carlos has led the NVOP by advocating for improved care and services for veterans of the Vietnam era, and he evolved the organization over four decades to be at the forefront of services for post-9/11 veterans and other service members transitioning to civilian life. On this special occasion, we celebrated the strength, heart, and soul of our AGIF-NVOP community and ensured that our work on behalf of veterans and their families continues into the next decade and beyond.
